Student Tips 8 things to do and see in Boston

With more than 600,000 people living in the area and more than 30% of them being scholars, Boston is the place to be particularly if youre a student. The city has a long history of architecture, culture, and much more. Its also a very diverse city, where you can find Chinatown, Little Italy, and many other places that provide a variety of environments, different to that of Downtown. As a student, I was also a hardcore traveler and spent most of my weekends visiting iconic places to maximize my experience. Based on my experiences, along with some local favorites, here are the top 8 things to do and visit in Boston! 1. Watch Red Sox Games at Fenway Park Fenway Park, the house of Boston Red Sox: the Major League Baseball team and pride of Boston. Fenway Park is one of the most visited places in Boston. Around the area you can see Red Sox fans, merchandise, stores with the Red Sox logo, and much more. You can shop around all day if you wanted to, but the best activity in my opinion is to watch Red Sox games live with some friends. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 2. Walk the Freedom Trail The trail is approximately a 2.5-mile-walk through Downtown, surrounded by historical buildings that are representations of different stories from the past. The trail also passes through 16 significant locations that are connected to the history of American Independence. You can create your own self-guided tour, or join a tour led by a local. 3. Shop and Dine at Faneuil Hall Faneuil Hall was built by Peter Faneuil back in 1740. The ground floor of the building is designated for market stalls. The Marketplace includes three long halls: Quincy Market, North Market, and South Market. The three halls are occupied by shops, restaurants, and exhibitions. During the day, there are street performers and buskers performing in the square around the markets. 4. Take a Duck Tour Hult students explore Boston in a Duck Tour. One of the fun and easy ways to travel around is to take the infamous Duck Tour. The tour departs from three different locations, and will take you around the city for around 80 minutes. From Prudential Tower to TD Garden to Boston Commons, there are more than 30 popular places you can visit during the Duck Tour. 5. Study in the Boston Public Library Reina Adriano and a friend pictured studying in the Boston library. The iconic Boston Public Library can be your next favorite studying spot. The popular Bates Hall is a spectacle and is reminiscent of libraries featured in movies, such as Harry Potter you can channel your inner-wizard! The Library’s garden is also worth a visit, especially during the warmer days. 6. Walk around the Charles River Esplanade The footpath around the Charles River, which separates Boston from Cambridge, is known as the Esplanade. The three-mile leafy path is one of the best jogging or running tracks in Boston. You’ll pass playgrounds, marshes, and places to rent sailboats. The track starts from the Museum of Science and finishes at the Boston University area. 7. Kayaking at the Charles River During the summer or early fall season, kayaking is one of the best things to do. Doing activities with friends or seeing the city landscape from the river, is truly a memorable experience. The Kayaking rental area is located around the Charles River Esplanade. 8. Shop at Bostons Newbury Street If youre looking to do some shopping during your trip, an eight-block shopping avenue is a dream for any shopaholic. From high street stores to the high-end stores like Marc Jacobs and Chanel, Newbury Street has it all. Its the perfect place for shopping for gifts or hunting for bargains. This street is a good place to start. So, these are eight things I recommend doing during your time in Boston. There are many, many more. If you find yourself in Boston, you wont be disappointed. It taught me a lot about how I see people, how people see me, and how conflict can be resolved in a kind and productive way. The best feedback you get, when delivered constructively, is the most critical because it really feeds into how you lead. I’ve completely reversed my leadership style—the result is so much richer and more powerful when you lead from behind and lead with strength. . Studying in tandem with working, whilst challenging, gave me the perfect platform to directly apply learning concepts into my business environment, the competitive landscape, and the real-estate industry as a whole. When I started the program, I was very happy in my corporate role. But my courage and aspirations grew to the point that I took on a whole new direction.
